Local Activities

Camp is located just out of Rye in the Colorado Rockies. There are many activities within 20 miles of Camp.

Greenhorn Mountain At 12,347 feet, Greenhorn Mountain is a striking peak raising above the plains. The Mountain has countless trails and stunning views from the top. It is possible to hike to the peak from camp, however it's possible to drive closer to the peak and greatly reduce the hiking time.
Bishop Castle Approximately 20 minutes up the road from camp is Bishop Castle. This castle has been built by one man and is the largest one man project in the USA. The castle is open to the public and entry is free.
Lake Isabel Approximately 10 minutes up the road from camp is Lake Isabel. This large, scenic lake is ideal for fishing, hiking and swimming (although a little cold!).
The Natural Waterslides A short drive and about an hour hike from camp are the natural waterslides. The river has eroded a series of natural slides in the rock. The water levels and water temperature are only suitable during the spring and summer.
The Marion Mines A short drive and an hour hike from camp are the Marion Mines. These abandoned mines are a remnant of the areas silver mining past.
