Our History

In 1916, campers began making the trek to YMCA Camp Crockett located on 320 acres, in the foothills of Greenhorn Mountain in the San Isabel National Forest. Young men went to hike, camp, ride horses, learn new skills and experience nature. These young men left with much more; they made memories and built friendships and confidence that lasted a lifetime. Much has changed since 1916, Camp Crockett is now called Camp Jackson, and last year over 600 campers attended the YMCA Camp Jackson. For many, it’s a family tradition that started with parents and grandparents.

Scholarship Policy

It is our mission to serve our community and as such we believe that money should never be the reason for a child not to attend camp. Therefore, a scholarship to YMCA Camp Jackson is available to anyone who cannot afford the total fee for camp. Applications are available from the YMCA of Pueblo. YMCA programs are open to all people, regardless of age, sex, race, religion, physical ability or national origin. YMCA Camp Jackson is an equal opportunities employer.
